Rubidium is a chemical element with the symbol Rb, electron configuration of [Kr] 5s1, and atomic number 37 ( period 5 ). It has 37 protons and 48 neutrons. It is solid at room temperature. Quite destructive though. But fear not, our product comes with a special glass container that stabilizes it. Rubidium is a soft, silvery-white metallic element of the alkali metal group, with an atomic mass of 85.4678. It was discovered by the German scientists Robert Bunsen and Gustav Kirchhoff in 1861. Rubidium is easily ionized, and so has possible use in "ion engines" for space vehicles. It's also used to make special glasses, and photocell components. they are found in rubidium Florides, Rubidium Chlorides, Rubidium Oxides, and Rubidium Hydrides.
